What is Distressed Hair?

My clients ask me many questions about their hair.  “Why is my hair dry or breaking?”  “Is natural hair healthier?” ” Is no sulfate shampoo better for my hair?” “Does the relaxer break my hair?”  My answer for them has always been, your hair or scalp is in a distress state.  You have to look at why is it in distress, what you are doing  and what you are not doing to your hair or scalp.  This doesn’t just mean what you do or put on your hair, its about your health also.

• Distressed hair can be any of these hair problems: brittle, thinning hair, limp, split ends, frizzy, dry, fading of color, a weak hair shaft, easily breaks when combing, over-relaxed, colored and permed hair.
• Distressed scalp can be dry, itchy, flaky, diminishing of hair strands, shoe signs of dark spot on the scalp, redness, bumps, oily, soreness, or a tight scalp.

We recommend that our clients obtain a hair and scalp check-up every 3 months to maintain healthier hair and scalp along with health awareness of the body.  We offer a free hair and scalp check-up analysis every 3 months for our clients whose hair is in a non-distressed state in order to promote healthier hair and scalp.  Your hair, scalp and skin are a reflection of the whole body’s condition, not just for fashion.

Please note many people think trichologist use products as a quick fix to correct hair distress.  It is much more than that and may require an ongoing regimen to solve a hair disorder problem.

Corrective Chemical Treatment 

For breakage  or chemically distressed hair ! 

Corrective Chemical Treatment – Is design For chemically-treated, lifeless, damaged hair. This treatment is used during or after all chemical services applied in our salon to remove distree or swelling from the hair shaft, which is damages the hair. Treatment is designed to stop the hair from breaking or becoming limp, dry, split, color faded or weak as a result of damage from color, perm bleaches and relaxers etc…  This process is designed to remove all chemical residues and strengthen the hair shaft from the inside out, while at the same time, add body, shine, moisture and nourishment, control breakage, split ends and eliminate dullness.

Dermal Detox Scalp Therapy Treatment 

Great  for dandruff or itchy scalp in distress!                  

We understand flakes and how bad the itching can get. Dermal scalp therapy is designed to exfoliate and remove build-up from the scalp and follicle, which can stop circulation to the hair follicle. It also stimulates the roots for new to hair growth. This treatment will not cause any imbalance to the sebaceous gland or follicles, the scalp will be clean which reduces hair loss and corrects many scalp disorders.

Modifier Thermal Treatment 

Don’t want a relaxer, but love straight or manageable hair !
No more damage from relaxers
If your hair has been damaged from a relaxer and is limp, weak and lifeless with no body, you need the Modifier Thermal Treatment. Maybe your hair is curly and you would like to to control your curls without a relaxer or texturing the hair, then you will love this treatment.  The Modifier Thermal Treatment modifies the hair protein, without damaging your hair; leaves no product build up or stripping the hair of its integrity. The Modifier Thermal Treatment builds body in fine textured hair that is limp. You will not want a relaxer any more after this treatment.  Please note it is different from our keratin treatment.  This treatment is designed to take the place of the relaxer, for clients that don’t want a relaxer any more.  If your hair is dry, hard, frizzy, and unmanageable or maybe  you are pressing your hair. If your hair is dry, coarse, frizzy, unmanageable and you want it to have body and healthy integrity without using a relaxer, this treatment is for you. It is designed to soften and de-frizz coarse hair.  It works beautifully for clients that are getting press to last longer. It is also extremely helpful for dry, over curly, frizzy, stiff, hard, brittle, chemically damaged hair by adding moisture without oils, and leaving hair with incredible shine.  It is designed to add body, stop breakage, frizz, and produce shiny and not-oily hair, while adding softness, thickness and humidity control.

When hair loses its moisture, it can become tangled, unmanageable, brittle and dry, with no body or shine. Clients  with natural hair may even have more breakage and split ends because natural hair needs more treatments than relax hair, treatments that will add luster and control dryness or damage to the hair without adding a build up on the hair shaft as oils and most conditioner do.  This treatment is specifically designed to control breakage for dry hair  , mend split ends, repair damaged ends, add moisture, eliminate dullness and nourish the hair shaft from the inside that has experienced styling abuse.
